Attributes
“start date”
- This indicates the earliest known date when the composer started to work.
“end date”
- This indicates the latest known date when the composer worked on this piece of music.
“additional”
- This indicates that most of the work of composing is attributed to a different composer.
Guidelines
"The music" in the context of this advanced relationship should be interpreted as the creation of the sequence of notes used to make a tune. The lyrics are handled separately, by the lyricist relationship type. Once a tune is written, it might well be arranged or rearranged (including adding new notes), but this doesn't count as writing "the music"; instead, this is covered by the arranger relationship type.
Examples
- "Prelude" from Suite for Unaccompainied Cello No. 1 was composed by Johann Sebastian Bach
- Johann Sebastian Bach composed "Prelude" from Suite for Unaccompainied Cello No. 1
