Every month or so, a new artist or project is chosen to be the subject of the Cleanup of the Month (previously 'Collaboration of the Month'). The aim is to bring the efforts of the community to a focus on providing the most complete and correct discography possible for a single artist, or to take care of a cleanup project too large for any one editor to handle.

Each collaboration is organised and discussed in its own wiki page and forum topic.

Current Cleanup(s) of the Month

For December 2009 - January 2010, we have two cleanups running at the same time: JS Bach box sets and Cleaning up the unlinked discs report.

Selecting the next Cleanup of the Month

To nominate an artist for a future cleanup, list the artist's name at the end of the list on the discussion page. To vote for a nomination, enter your name underneath the description. Good candidates for CotM should be artists that have large, messy, and incomplete MusicBrainz entries. Please add more candidates!

Previous Collaborations/Cleanups of the Month

  • The Beatles (November-December 2006)
  • Dire Straits (January-April 2007)
  • Bob Marley (May-June 2007)
    • Note: Due to growing pains of the Musicbrainz Community and the complexity of Bob Marley's musicantry, and insufficient interest in CotM at large, Bob Marley's entries were not completed.
  • Ennio Morricone (July-August 2007)
  • [unknown] (September 2007-January 2008)
  • Benny Goodman (February-March 2008)
