"classical" music or "serious" music should not be treated as something else.

First of Classical Music is a period in music history that different composers have covered roughly a time period of 1750 until 1825. Music composed outside this period is not regarded as Classical, despite feeble attempts on Musicbrainz or Free CDDB. Musicbrainz does use a quite logical definition of serious music as music that is not performed by the composer. This actually has been very common in the past and the present. Presently we tend to call this a "cover" as in Marianne Faithfull covers a track originally written by Dolly Parton called "Down From Dover" on her album "Easy come, easy go". No one really would file this under Dolly Parton as it is sung and performed by Marianne Faithfull. Likewise Dejan Lazic plays Rachmaninov Piano Concertos without any interaction of Sergei Rachmaninoff as he died in 1943. Therefore the (album) artist on this track is mr. Lazic, the composer is Rachmaninov. Everthing else stinks of inconstancy.

Please tag your music consistant: Artist = Performer, Composer = Composer.
