AutoModerators and AutoModerations
AutoMod is an ambiguous term and can mean either AutoModerator or AutoModeration.
- An AutoModeration is BadTerminology for an edit that does not go to a vote: that is, the change is applied immediately, and the moderation is marked (with an 'A') as auto-approved.
- An AutoModerator is a moderator who has been given the "automod" privilege (by the AutoEditorElection process). This privilege enables them to enter a greater range of edit types that are auto-approved, i.e. applied immediately, without going to a vote.
In most cases, AutoMod is used in the latter sense; especially as "moderation" is (hopefully!) replaced with "edit" throughout MusicBrainz, uses of the former sense should be replaced with "auto-approved edit."
