Audio fingerprints are identifiers for audio files based on the contained audio data. [[MusicBrainz]] currently makes use of Relatable's [[TRM]] which is an algorithm matching files by audio fingerprints but may abbandon the support for this in the future - see [[Getting Rid Of TRM|GettingRidOfTRM]] for more info.

In addition to TRM, and the fingerprint in Kurt Rosenfeld's [[FDMF]], there are a number of different commercial systems:
