Artist

The Artist field should contain the most important performers who appear on that specific recording. Do not enter the composer here. Composer information will be included in a linked work (by way of the recording-work performance AR).

  • If the release lists all performers who appear on the release, be careful to only add performers who actually contributed to the specific recording.
  • If no performer info can be found, use special artist [unknown].

Disambiguation

If recordings by different composers have confusingly similar recording title/artist combinations, the composer(s) may be added to the comment field. This way, the composer will appear in contextual search (such as the "Relate to..." dialog).
