Recording/Artist Credits

Official Documentation > Style Guidelines > Classical Style Guidelines
  • Releases and Release Groups:
Artist | Title | Language and Script
  • Recordings:  Artist | Title
  • Tracks: Artist | Title

Recording Artist Credits should link to performers, not to the composer. Composer information will be included in a linked work (by way of the recording-work performance AR).

  • Some releases list all performers who appear on the release. Make sure that the performers you link to a recording actually performed on that recording.

Disambiguation

If recordings by different composers have confusingly similar recording title/artist combinations, the composer(s) may be added to the comment field. This way, the composer will appear in contextual search (such as the "Relate to..." dialog).

  • the old CSG performer disambiguation (add performers to the title of the release and releasegroup) does not apply anymore.
