When a Release is part of a set of multiple discs (or LPs, cassettes, ...), the DiscNumber is the number of the disc in that set.

DiscNumbers follow DiscNumberStyle.

Note that a DiscNumber is not the same as a VolumeNumber. VolumeNumbers are usually added to releases that are not released together and not on the same date; DiscNumbers indicate releases are part of a multi disc release, sold as one item.

Examples

AlbumTitle: "The Best of Jimi Hendrix (disc 1)"

  • DiscNumber: "1"

AlbumTitle: "Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness (disc 2: Twilight to Starlight)"

  • DiscNumber: "2"
