Purpose

Currently, the documentation about editing and MusicBrainz concepts (not the "developers" or "products" stuff), is the cause of many griefs. To some extent, it grown out of control, and presents many discrepancies, be it in content (outdated, sometimes contradicting) or in style, and a lot of confusion with the various other contents presented on the wiki, and how the transclusion mechanism work.

For more details about the various problems we try to address, check this page.

Objective

We plan on incrementally enhancing the doc quality, by making "micro-releases" of it. Ultimately, the concept of documentation releases should be used to keep the documentation in synch with the site, and make DocumentationReleases each time the site is updated. Also, we would like to refine our concepts about documentation, and encourage the creation of a (constant) documentation effort through the constitution of a DocumentationTeam.

Note that this effort is not (essentially) the same thing as solving the various pending style issues, but rather address the shortcomings pertaining to the way we document things itself.

Releases

Current target is version 1.0.
