Description

Label subscribtions are a helpful MusicBrainz editing tool. Every label you subscribe to, by clicking on "Subscribe" on their MusicBrainz page, gets added to a list. The function of this label subscription list is to send you a daily digest, to your registered e-mail, of all open and closed edits for your subscribed labels made in the previous day. Various helpful links are included in it.

An added functionality, for users who have turned on InlineEdits, is to display edits for your subscribed first, only preceded by edits for the label you are currently viewing and possibly followed by edits for random labels.

Additional Informations

Label subscriptions are very similar to ArtistSubscriptions. They share the same preferences in the account preferences panel ("Show inline edits" and "Show random inline edits").

You can unsubscribe from a label just as for artists: go to your subscription list, tick the checkbox next to the label you wish to unsubscribe, submit.

Privacy

Not everyone might feel comfortable with the thought of having their label subscriptions made public (maybe one doesn't want people to know [Universal] is on it?) - so, making your subscription list public requires explicit activation, through the use of a preference in your account panel - "Allow other users to see subscriptions".

As explained in these notes however, it is, in some cases, possible to deduct one's preferences from the number of people that are subscribed to a certain artist.
