MusicBrainz wiki categories

This page contains a list of established categories that should be used in the MusicBrainzWiki to categorize your WikiPages.

This is a work in progress, some existing categories in WikiCategoriesDiscussion will be discussed and then will be moved here.

Category:Proposal -- Pages that deal with proposals covering anything other than advanced relationships or StyleGuidelines.
- Category:Failed Proposal -- Pages that deal with any failed proposals, including advanced relationships and StyleGuidelines.
- Category:Proposed Style -- Pages that deal with proposed StyleGuidelines.
- Category:Proposed Advanced Relationship Type -- This Category groups all pages that contain a ProposedAdvancedRelationshipType.

Category:Style -- For pages describing, proposing, or discussing the style guidelines.
- Category:Official Style -- For the official pages describing the accepted StyleGuidelines.
- Category:Series Style -- Pages that deal with SeriesStyleGuidelines.
- Category:Style Council -- Pages that deal with the StyleCouncil.

Category:WikiDocs Page -- This category groups all WikiDocs pages.
- Category:Text Fragment -- This category groups all pages that are used on the MusicBrainz Server for transcluded Text Fragments.

Category:Products -- This category groups all MusicBrainz products, and some of their documentation.
- Category:Server -- This category groups all pages that deal with the MusicBrainz Server.
- Category:Database -- This category groups all pages that deal with the MusicBrainz Database.
- Category:Download -- This category groups all pages that provide download links for MusicBrainz products.
- Category:Picard -- This category groups all pages about MusicBrainz Picard.

Category:Affiliate -- This category groups all pages relating to our tagger affiliate program.

Category:Person -- Personal pages of WikiZens and MusicBrainz Contributors. These are important because they backlink to all the pages a person has edited. So please create a personal page and sign your edits with your Wiki Name.
- Category:Bio -- This category groups all pages that are official biographies of the people behind MusicBrainz.
- Category:Developer -- This category groups all pages about MusicBrainz developers.
- Category:User Language -- This category groups all pages that define a User Language.

Category:Communication Forum -- This category is for pages that describe places used by the MusicBrainz community to discuss.

Category:Wiki -- This category groups pages that deal with the state of this wiki or with general wiki culture.
- Category:Candidate for Deletion -- This is a list of pages which should maybe be deleted.
- Category:To Be Reviewed -- This is a list of pages that haven't been reviewed yet.
- Category:Stubs -- These are articles that could use some expansion.

Category:Index -- This category groups together index pages. Index pages just collect pages that deal with a specific topic without that topic being discussed on the page itself. Please keep in mind that a wiki is a flat hierarchy; that means that pages can be listed on several indices. Index pages form nothing like a directory tree but are mere clusters for topics.
