• Search hint lets us mark aliases which only function as search hints, e.g. typos and misspellings, and can otherwise be ignored. Search hints would not be able to have sort names, dates, locales

  I think we should be able to specify locale for search hints because they are related to title in certain language and when displaying we can possibly group them together according to the language.
• It looks like the proposal talks only about artist aliases. We should consider also aliases of works, releases etc.

Tying to artist credits

I also think that artist aliases should be tied to artist credits. In artist credits if an editor decides to change the "artist as credited" value then a list of legal name and performance name aliases should be offered. If editor decides to enter a new name which is not on the list a new alias will be created. --Pabouk 21:59, 17 February 2012 (UTC)
