=Style Issues=

Style issues are problems of any kind with the current [[Official Style Guideline|OfficialStyleGuideline]]<code><nowiki></nowiki></code>s, the [[Advanced Relationships|AdvancedRelationships]] system or with the choice of data that [[MusicBrainz]] offers (e.g. the [[Release Language|ReleaseLanguage]]<code><nowiki></nowiki></code>s or [[Release Country|ReleaseCountry]]).

They are resolved in a community process by the [[Style Council|StyleCouncil]].

==Bug Tracker==

There is a list [http://bugs.musicbrainz.org/report/8 list of open style issues] in the [[MusicBrainz]] [[Bug Tracker|BugTracker]]. How actively is still used?
* Actively, again, after a pause of several months. —[[User:JimDeLaHunt|JimDeLaHunt]] 2008-02-09

<ul><li style="list-style-type:none">When I said, that this was not used anymore, I meant that I have not seen it being ''referred to'' on the [[Style Mailing List|StyleMailingList]] for quite a while. Is anybody using the tracker? -- [[User:DonRedman|DonRedman]] 08:17, 02 November 2006 (UTC)
<ul><li style="list-style-type:none">Well, to me "but this is not actively used anymore" could be easily misunderstood by newbies that they should better not care about it. If something is used or not is a thing they can workout themselves, but official documentation should not say "we don't use this". At least not if there are no alternative procedures. Are there any? If not then I think it's important to still encourage people to use the current ones. Rules follow practice, but there's a difference if people are just too lazy to enter style issues in the [[Bug Tracker|BugTracker]] or if they really feel this is too formalised and we don't need documentation of open issues. :) -- [[User:Shepard|Shepard]] 15:52, 02 November 2006 (UTC)

Starting in January 2008, there has been a flurry of activity on the mb-style list about cleaning up a large backlog of issues in the [[Classical Style Guide|ClassicalStyleGuide]]. I think we need a tool track those issues. It makes a lot of sense to resume using the tracker for this purpose. I'm going to start doing it, unless someone persuades me it's not a good idea. [[User:BrianFreud|BrianFreud]] is already restarting its use; see [http://bugs.musicbrainz.org/ticket/3549 Ticket #3549 "Clean Up CSG"]. —[[User:JimDeLaHunt|JimDeLaHunt]] 2008-02-06.
<ul><li style="list-style-type:none">[[User:kuno|kuno]] has been maintaining a StyleIssue list at [[User:kuno/CurrentStyleProposals|kuno/CurrentStyleProposals]] for some months now. I applaud that page, but I think the [[Bug Tracker|BugTracker]] is an even better tool for the job. I'm presently adding new style issues to the [[Bug Tracker|BugTracker]]. —[[User:JimDeLaHunt|JimDeLaHunt]] 2008-02-09
