Free is not free :-) What about where downloads are tied to conditions, like registering an email address or something? Does that qualify as free enough?

Does it have to be a link to a web page in any case? Or are direkt links to like mp3 files also allowed? --Shepard

  • Shepard, it's my understanding that direct links to MP3s are frowned on unless they have a CreativeCommons license--in which case you should use a Creative-Commons-licensed-download link instead of this type. --LarryGilbert
