=A guy from the states=
I'm [[Brian Schweitzer|BrianSchweitzer]], aka BrianFreud on the site and in IRC - otherwise known as the guy who says lol a lot.
I'm into soundtracks, Nirvana, R.E.M., Led Zeppelin, Mozart, Tori Amos, jazz, and just about anything else except for gospel and country... ...except for Willie Nelson, who I learned to like - blame my freshman roommate playing him 24/7 for that one.
I play the alto, tenor, and baritone saxophones, as well as the recorder.
My [http://musicbrainz.org/show/user/?userid=95678 MusicBrainz profile]. You can find also me at [http://www.last.fm/user/BrianFreud/ last.fm].

==My Favorite Music==
<ul><li style="list-style-type:none">In no particular order...
Just about any release of Mozart's Requiem, though I much prefer the Sussmayr version to any of the others.
<ul><li style="list-style-type:none">Only exception is the 1945 Berlin, Germany Nazi recording, which just sounds incredibly overpowered, and lacks finesse.
[http://musicbrainz.org/artist/348f3a5f-5112-4d72-b33b-11c60b4f9af2.html Thomas Newman]'s soundtrack to [http://musicbrainz.org/release/6150946e-919a-4f24-b701-32e305bc4080.html The Shawshank Redemption]
<ul><li style="list-style-type:none">The perfect work for a rainy day - or a day you wish it would rain, and need your spirits lifted. (I've also pretty much memorized every line of the movie)
[http://musicbrainz.org/artist/aab5c954-cabe-432e-899e-1c4f99757327.html Toto]'s expanded score for the Lynch version of [http://musicbrainz.org/release/657c345a-0f15-49bb-88db-3bd8d8e2bb47.html Dune]
<ul><li style="list-style-type:none">Even as a soundtrack fan, this is one of the few soundtracks I can put on repeat play all day, and still enjoy it at the end of the day. Just a very powerful work. This version is missing [http://musicbrainz.org/artist/ff95eb47-41c4-4f7f-a104-cdc30f02e872.html Brian Eno]'s [http://musicbrainz.org/track/1dc6b264-ca0c-4b46-9a64-59ac8134e763.html Prophecy Theme], which is the one negative, so sometimes it's nice to alternate this version with the [http://musicbrainz.org/release/840470ef-050c-4c67-8748-baa710642d67.html shorter version], which includes that track. (And yes, I do have this movie memorized as well.)
[http://musicbrainz.org/artist/f22942a1-6f70-4f48-866e-238cb2308fbd.html Aphex Twin]'s [http://musicbrainz.org/track/41e410b2-aa91-421b-8d51-158b9887db79.html Milkman], on the [http://musicbrainz.org/release/ed3cc540-ea39-4bd2-80d0-e2a816f6be82.html Girl/Boy EP]
<ul><li style="list-style-type:none">First time I heard this track, I started laughing so hard, I nearly crashed my car. It's still able to make me break out laughing all these years later...

<ul><li style="list-style-type:none">Not nearly as well crafted as the Aphex Twin song, but again, one of the few songs that can always make me smile.
Probably a few others I'm forgetting at the moment... :)
