Simply, ask yourself this question: "If I remove or change the illustrations/photographs, does this book still make sense?" If the answer is yes, use Author-Edition. If no, use Author-Work.

• The text is predominantly discussing the images
• The work is about the artist

Use Edition if:

• There is only a few images or just the cover of the book
• Removing the images has no impact on the logic of the text in the book
• Replacing images with different ones has no impact on the logic of the text in the book
