In 2001, the license terms for the user-created music database CDDB were changed by its new owners, Gracenote, requiring the very users who had created it to pay for access to the data. A few projects stepped in to fill the void left by its loss, a project called MusicBrainz among them. Bio
Frederik "Freso" S. Olesen (or just Freso) is a geek of many trades, having been involved with MusicBrainz since 2006, helping with entering and editing data, being involved with MusicBrainz policy processes, helping development on both the MusicBrainz server code itself as well as various auxiliary/related projects.
