Translations
There are several places where translations can be noted in Musicbrainz:
Works
For a work to be considered a translated version, the translated language must be different from the original language. While a literal translation is not required, the translated lyrics should still be distinctly and detectably derived from the original lyrics.
Relevant ARs:
- If the lyrics, but not the libretto, have been translated, then the Lyricist Relationship Type should be used, with the translated attribute.
- If the libretto has been translated, use Librettist Relationship Type with the translated attribute.
- If the translation is from a different work (i.e. the translation was created later), use the Other Version Relationship Type
Releases
- If a release title or track title has been translated or transliterated, then Translation Transliteration Relationship Type should be used as appropriate.
