A lot of editors use ASCII punctuation even though first paragraph of the Miscellaneous style guide stipulates to use Unicode punctuation. Typing Unicode punctuation is sometimes difficult and many editors are not familiar with what characters we prefer; this page is intended as a resource for editors who can’t find or type said characters.

This is a left single quotation mark.

This character functions as both a right single quotation mark and an apostrophe.

This is a left double quotation mark.

This is a right double quotation mark.

This is a prime symbol. Use it in place of ' to indicate feet (measurements).

This is a double prime. Use it in place of " to indicate inches.

This is a Unicode hyphen.

This is an en dash. See #41959011 about its use.
