Similarly, there is also the [[Jazz/Labels]] project on the wiki that has some information about (jazz oriented) labels. IMO, all data here should be migrated into the database whenever we got labels live: homesites should be linked to using ARs, and catalogs schemes should go to annotations. -- [[User:dmppanda|dmppanda]] 09:59, 16 January 2007 (UTC)

I setup this page for my own use rather than official site use (although others are welcome to use and add to it). The purpose it to have an easy way to check what a label is if we only have their catalog number. That ability can't be reproduced through the label annotations, although links from here to the labels would be very helpful now. Until we have a catalog method of search this page it still useful to me. - Editor:Kerensky97

Purpose

Remember that just because the catalog number is the same format does not mean that this is the definite label, this is merely guide to help you find further proof on the internet or other sources. Labels may also use more than format, feel free to add more than one example. Different countries of release may have different formats so be sure for example to separate Sony USA from Sony Japan if you can. This isn't the place to debate which label is a distributor of which, just link the catalog number to the name that commonly shows up next to the number on the spine of the album (it's frequently the distributor rather than the holding company).
