This is the release plan for our cover art archive server release.

Before the release:

  1. setup caa schema on totoro
  2. setup CAA-indexer and pgq on Pino to point to totoro
  3. On pino, update CAA-indexer to point to the production database
  4. On pino, update coverart_redirect to point to the production database
    (a coverart_redirect.conf.production is provided, check that nothing in there is outdated before using it)
  5. Clear out test data at the internet archive:
    Use s3cmd to list and nuke all cover art archive buckets

During the actual release:

  1. On web frontends, update to latest code

After the actual release:

  1. Transclude updated version of http://musicbrainz.org/doc/About_MusicBrainz/Data_License
