This proposal is designed to improve the guidelines on merging recordings. It is felt that the current guidelines are too vague, and that they don't cover all cases where recordings might be merged. This proposal seeks to expand these guidelines and make them clearer.

The second version is a revised version of the first version. I edited it to remove all references to the word "release", as this page should be applicable to standalone recordings too. I feel that it's clearer than the first version.

What should and shouldn't share recordings?
