Automatic Merging
The conversion script will merge current releases into release groups if:
- they are linked with the earliest release AR and have the same type or
- they are linked with the translation/transliteration AR or
- they are linked with the part of set AR or
- they are linked with the remaster AR and have the same type or
- they share the same Discogs URL or
- they share the same Wikipedia URL or
- they share the same Amazon URL or
- they have the same release event with all fields except barcode filled in
- they have release event with all fields filled in and all fields except the catalog number are the same
Counter examples (Example of bad results)
- they have release event with all fields filled in and all fields except the catalog number are the same
- These EPs have been release separately, but also in a boxset: Mathematics & With the Invisible. Because of the common release event (for the boxset) their release-group is going to be merged, which is wrong.
- they share the same Amazon URL
- http://musicbrainz.org/show/url/?urlid=430700 is going wronly merge all the 3 linked releases. While this one can be fixed now, there are probably others that won't be fixed before the automatic merge.
- this release has a shared ASIN, a PartOfSetRelationship and a EarliestReleaseRelationship. Because of this shared ASIN all the linked releases will see their release-groups merged.
