Years on older releases (taken from the letters in "NIHON RECORD KYOUKAI" [1]):

First two letters for the company - list

Third letter for the formats - list

Releases use EAN-13s starting with 45 or 49.

Older releases can have the barcode prefixed with a T for OCR. [2]

Third to fifth letters for the company - list

Keys are structured as [sharp/flat][note][major/minor]
