Who are you?

I'm Simon, 24 years old, from Germany. I study computer sciences. You can find me on IRC.

What are your prefered scopes on Music Brainz?

GermanArtists, Metal, Prog & Gothic bands mainly but also lots of other stuff. Excessive ARing from liner notes, adding release data (ReleaseAnnotationStyle), cleaning up artists I stumble over.

To Do List

  • look through compilation series Bargrooves
  • Fixing&completing Schiller

Compilation series watch list

Editing suggestions

  • Go through searches mixed by and compiled by, add according relationships to the albums and - if it does not clearly belong to the title - delete the "mixed by"/"compiled by" phrase from the album title.
  • Go through search for tribute to and add TributeRelationshipType ARs to the albums.

Ideas for reports / scripts

  • Albums of type live/bootleg with a release date set (if the date is the performance date then delete it)
  • Why? We have a group here in Italy that sells copies of the show just at the end of it. --ClutchEr2
  • ARs of the DiscogsRelationshipType which contain one of the strings e.discogs funksoul.discogs hiphop.discogs latin.discogs jazz.discogs reggae.discogs rock.discogs (were only 4 when last checked; those are to be replaced by the more general URL form www.discogs)
  • Albums which have a last track called [data track] (still people use this style but don't delete it; nikki had a script for this)
  • Missuse of Artist--Artist relationships (example: bands being members of artists, artists being members of persons)
  • We need a LinkChecker!

Spoken languages

(well it's more than "some" but it's far from fluent ;) )
