Guidelines/ Suggestions for CritiqueBrainz review

What is a Review of Music

A review of a musical composition is an evaluation of a publication, service, musical composition (music review of a composition or recording). A compilation of reviews may itself be called a review.

1.Language

A review can be written in any Language but in simple words that should be easy to understand.

b.Title

The user should write the name of the music and the artist (if it is a single) else the name of the album and the name of the artist.

3.Elements

The title must be informative: • The title has to include important terms.

• It has to indicate that the text is a review music.

The title must be short:

• Keep the title concise.

• A longer subtitle may be an option in case a specification is necessary.

4.Tense

The review should be written in correct tense. So that other people are able to understand easily the content of your review.

5. Voice

A review should always be written in an active voice (easy for the readers to understand).

6. Style Guidelines

There should not be any Style Guidelines for writing a review.


B. Body: Material and Methods

1.Function

Systematic and best evidence reviews have a methods section. This section enables motivated researches to repeat the review. This section include some information about applied methods at the end of the introduction.


2.Elements

The material and methods section includes the information about the music that should be written in the review enabling the users to understand your information.


3.Tense

Preferably past but in some cases it may be changed as the demand goes.


4.Voice

The voice of the review should always be in active voice.


5.Length

The length of the review should be (at max.) 5 to 6 paragraphs each paragraph should be briefly explained.
