=AutoEditors=

AutoEditor<code><nowiki></nowiki></code>s are [[Editor]]s who have been trusted to make edits that are automatically approved ([[Auto-Edit|AutoEdit]]<code><nowiki></nowiki></code>s) without going through the normal voting process, as well as approve other editors' edits. There is a [http://musicbrainz.org/mod/automodlist.html list of all AutoEditors].

[[Image:Attention.png]] All [[Editor]]s and AutoEditor<code><nowiki></nowiki></code>s are expected to follow the [[MusicBrainz]] [[Code Of Conduct|CodeOfConduct]].

If you are an AutoEditor, you can participate in the [http://musicbrainz.org/user/election/ AutoEditor elections].

==Privileges of AutoEditors==

AutoEditor<code><nowiki></nowiki></code>s can make some types of edits without going to a vote. <br/> See the page on [[Edit Type|EditType]]<code><nowiki></nowiki></code>s for a more detailed description.

==Obligations of an AutoEditor==

AutoEditor<code><nowiki></nowiki></code>s should always align themselves to the [[Code Of Conduct|CodeOfConduct]]. Furthermore they should be able to look beyond their own nose regarding the data they edit. It is good to have experts in certain areas but every AutoEditor should at least know the basic rules for editing data in every music area and be familiar with all kinds of structural edits and processes. Additionally it is always good if they show some interest in the [[MusicBrainz Forum|community]], the [[Future Work|FutureWork]] and general issues.

Subscription to the [[Automods Mailing List|AutomodsMailingList]] is mandatory for all AutoEditor<code><nowiki></nowiki></code>s and they are encouraged to participate in nomination discussions there.

==Becoming an AutoEditor==

In order to become an AutoEditor, another AutoEditor has to nominate you (see [[Auto-Editor Election|AutoEditorElection]]). If your nomination receives two seconders, and a simple majority of votes, you will be promoted to AutoEditor status (this may require you to logout, and login again to be activated).
