AutoEditors
AutoEditors are Editors who have been trusted to make edits that are automatically approved (AutoEdits) without going through the normal voting process, as well as approve other editors' edits. There is a list of all AutoEditors.
All Editors and AutoEditors are expected to follow the MusicBrainz CodeOfConduct.
If you are an AutoEditor, you can participate in the AutoEditor elections.
Privileges of AutoEditors
This section NeedsUpdating.
AutoEditors can make the following types of edits without going to a vote (See the page on EditTypes for a more detailed description):
- AddArtistEdit
- EditArtistNameEdit *
- EditArtistSortnameEdit *
- AddArtistAliasEdit
- EditArtistAliasEdit *
- AddReleaseEdit (including FreeDBImports)
- EditReleaseNameEdit *
- MoveReleaseEdit
- ConvertReleaseToMultipleArtistsEdit
- ConvertReleaseToSingleArtistEdit
- EditReleaseAttributesEdit +
- EditReleaseEventsEdit +
- AddTrackEdit

Subscription to the AutomodsMailingList is mandatory for all AutoEditors and they are encouraged to participate in nomination discussions there.
Becoming an AutoEditor
In order to become an AutoEditor, another AutoEditor has to nominate you (see AutoEditorNomination). If your nomination receives two seconders, and a simple majority of votes, you will be promoted to AutoEditor status (this may require you to logout, and login again to be activated).
