#REDIRECT [[Editor#Auto-editors]]
AutoEditor<code><nowiki></nowiki></code>s are [[Editor]]s who have been trusted to make edits that are automatically approved ([[Auto-Edit|AutoEdit]]<code><nowiki></nowiki></code>s) without going through the normal voting process, as well as approve other editors' edits. There is a [http://musicbrainz.org/mod/automodlist.html list of all AutoEditors].
[[Image:Attention.png]] All [[Editor]]s and AutoEditor<code><nowiki></nowiki></code>s are expected to follow the [[MusicBrainz]] [[Code Of Conduct|CodeOfConduct]].
If you are an AutoEditor, you can participate in the [http://musicbrainz.org/user/election/ AutoEditor elections].
==Privileges of AutoEditors==
AutoEditor<code><nowiki></nowiki></code>s can make some types of edits without going to a vote. <br/> See the page on [[Edit Type|EditType]]<code><nowiki></nowiki></code>s for a more detailed description.
==Obligations of an AutoEditor==
AutoEditor<code><nowiki></nowiki></code>s should always align themselves to the [[Code Of Conduct|CodeOfConduct]]. Furthermore they should be able to look beyond their own nose regarding the data they edit. It is good to have experts in certain areas but every AutoEditor should at least know the basic rules for editing data in every music area and be familiar with all kinds of structural edits and processes. Additionally it is always good if they show some interest in the [[MusicBrainz Forum|community]], the [[Future Work|FutureWork]] and general issues.
Subscription to the [[Automods Mailing List|AutomodsMailingList]] is mandatory for all AutoEditor<code><nowiki></nowiki></code>s and they are encouraged to participate in nomination discussions there.
==Becoming an AutoEditor==
In order to become an AutoEditor, another AutoEditor has to nominate you (see [[Auto-Editor Election|AutoEditorElection]]). If your nomination receives two seconders, and a simple majority of votes, you will be promoted to AutoEditor status (this may require you to logout, and login again to be activated).
Not quite sure if perhaps a script does the [[Candidate For Deletion|CandidateForDeletion]] setting, but either way, this clearly ought not to be one. -- -- [[Brian Schweitzer|BrianSchweitzer]] 04:03, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
<ul><li style="list-style-type:none">Brian:
* There isn't any script for deletion: pages marked as [[Candidate For Deletion|CandidateForDeletion]] are manually removed (usually by [[Wiki Warden|WikiWarden]]<code><nowiki></nowiki></code>s). This is just a way to advert people that we intent to remove such page and call for eventual vetoes.
* This page is not marked as [[Candidate For Deletion|CandidateForDeletion]], but [[Auto Moderator|AutoModerator]] ([http://wiki.musicbrainz.org/AutoModerator?action=show http://wiki.musicbrainz.org/AutoModerator?action=show]) is. You're probably confused because [[Auto Moderator|AutoModerator]] redirects to AutoEditor.

<ul><li style="list-style-type:none">Hi. If you're wondering, I've started on my CandidateForDeletiong spree, looking through [[Redirection Pages|RedirectionPages]], redirecting links, and marking the now no-longer referenced page as a CandidateForDeletion -- [[User:MartinRudat|MartinRudat]] 11:47, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
<ul><li style="list-style-type:none">[[Delete When Cooked|DeleteWhenCooked]] (For the entire block I guess): Ok, just was going off the comment, and looking more closely, you're right, it is the redirect that's the [[Candidate For Deletion|CandidateForDeletion]] - somewhat confusing when I was going through checking on them :P We still have [http://wiki.musicbrainz.org/RecentChanges?action=fullsearch&context=180&value=automoderator&fullsearch=Text several] pages using the old terminology - looks like we'll need to do a "moderator" and "automoderator" terminology sweep. -- [[Brian Schweitzer|BrianSchweitzer]] 17:26, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
