It's usually a good idea to merge a misspelled artist into the correctly spelled version. This is preferable to doing a MoveReleaseEdit or ChangeTrackArtistEdit, because MergeArtistsEdit automatically adds the "lost" artist name as an ArtistAlias to the target artist.

So next time someone attempts to add a track to the misspelled artist, the ArtistAlias will automatically redirect them to the correct spelling, thus preventing the user of re-creating the incorrect spelling again.

This is in some ways analogous to the MergeRatherThanDelete guideline for DuplicateReleases.

Note that in some (more rare) cases on the other hand, doing so is not desirable, for the very same reason (an alias for the "lost" artist will be attached to the target artist). This happens specifically when merging a bogus collaboration ("A & B") into an artist ("A").
