Description

This indicates that a person founded a group. This does not apply to groups that meet and take shape spontaneously; it refers to groups where individuals are selected directly by the founder or through an audition process, formally or informally. Common examples of founders may include a manager or a conductor.

• Artist was founded by Artist

Attributes

• start date

This indicates the date the artist founded the group.

• end date

This should be the same as the start date.

Guidelines

• When the founding date is known, the begin and end date should be the same ("X founded Y in 1983", rather than "X founded Y from 1983 to present").
• For cases where the founder is a member of the band, use the Member of Band Relationship Type and select the founder attribute.
