MusicBrainz Mailing Lists
The MusicBrainz mailing lists are one of the most important communication forums of the project.
They can be found at http://musicbrainz.org/list.html. There are searchable archives of all previous messages and subscription pages to add yourself to the lists.
Nabble hosts a combined archive with all the lists from the MusicBrainz project. This archive is far more comfortable than the archives on musicbrainz.org. A user can cross search or browse all the discussions instead of having to visit each list.
When we speak of the "MailingList" on this wiki, we usually mean the main UsersMailingList. In mid 2005 we have restructured our mailing lists and not all links have been corrected, yet. See MailingListDiscussion for details about the restructuring.
There are three multi-purpose mailing lists. They differ in the degree of involvement of their subscribers:
- General discussions about MusicBrainz for all users
- Discussions about the development of MusicBrainz for experienced users
- Restricted list for the MusicBrainz CommunityAdvisoryBoard
Then there are some more specialized lists:
- Discussion of general style issues, like StyleGuideline
s
- Development of MusicBrainz for programmers
- Discussions about internationalisation of MusicBrainz
- Restricted list for discussion between and election of new AutoModerators
(there is a MailingListTemplate to create new MailingList pages)

Should this page name not be plural, now that there are multiple MailingLists? --MartinRudat
