Hi Lukas, I tried your nice plugin for submitting releases through PicardQT on a folder of mine… It generated the following Add Release URL : http://musicbrainz.org/cdi/enter.html?hasmultipletrackartists=0&artistid=2&artistedit=1&artistname=%E6%A3%AE%E6%98%8C%E5%AD%90&releasename=%E6%A3%AE%E6%98%8C%E5%AD%90%20%E3%83%99%E3%82%B9%E3%83%88&track0=%E3%81%9B%E3%82%93%E3%81%9B%E3%81%84&tracklength0=3%3A20&tr0_artistname=%E6%A3%AE%E6%98%8C%E5%AD%90&track1=%E5%90%8C%E7%B4%9A%E7%94%9F&tracklength1=3%3A27&tr1_artistname=%E6%A3%AE%E6%98%8C%E5%AD%90&track2=%E4%B8%AD%E5%AD%A6%E4%B8%89%E5%B9%B4%E7%94%9F&tracklength2=3%3A28&tr2_artistname=%E6%A3%AE%E6%98%8C%E5%AD%90&track3=%E5%A4%95%E9%A1%94%E3%81%AE%E9%9B%A8&tracklength3=3%3A58&tr3_artistname=%E6%A3%AE%E6%98%8C%E5%AD%90&track4=%E8%A8%98%E5%BF%B5%E6%A8%B9&tracklength4=3%3A14&tr4_artistname=%E6%A3%AE%E6%98%8C%E5%AD%90&track5=%E3%81%8A%E3%81%8B%E3%81%82%E3%81%95%E3%82%93&tracklength5=3%3A12&tr5_artistname=%E6%A3%AE%E6%98%8C%E5%AD%90&track6=%E3%81%82%E3%81%AA%E3%81%9F%E3%82%92%E5%BE%85%E3%81%A3%E3%81%A6%E4%B8%89%E5%B9%B4%E4%B8%89%E6%9C%88&tracklength6=3%3A10&tr6_artistname=%E6%A3%AE%E6%98%8C%E5%AD%90&track7=%E3%81%82%E3%81%AE%E4%BA%BA%E3%81%AE%E8%88%B9%E8%A1%8C%E3%81%A3%E3%81%A1%E3%82%83%E3%81%A3%E3%81%9F&tracklength7=3%3A49&tr7_artistname=%E6%A3%AE%E6%98%8C%E5%AD%90&track8=%E3%81%AA%E3%81%BF%E3%81%A0%E3%81%AE%E6%A1%9F%E6%A9%8B&tracklength8=4%3A18&tr8_artistname=%E6%A3%AE%E6%98%8C%E5%AD%90&track9=%E7%88%B6%E5%A8%98%E8%8D%89&tracklength9=4%3A10&tr9_artistname=%E6%A3%AE%E6%98%8C%E5%AD%90&track10=%E5%BD%BC%E5%B2%B8%E8%8A%B1&tracklength10=4%3A10&tr10_artistname=%E6%A3%AE%E6%98%8C%E5%AD%90&track11=%E3%81%9F%E3%82%81%E3%81%84%E3%81%8D%E6%A9%8B&tracklength11=3%3A25&tr11_artistname=%E6%A3%AE%E6%98%8C%E5%AD%90&track12=%E6%B3%A2%E6%AD%A2%E5%A0%B4%E9%80%9A%E3%82%8A%20%E3%81%AA%E3%81%BF%E3%81%A0%E7%94%BA&tracklength12=3%3A58&tr12_artistname=%E6%A3%AE%E6%98%8C%E5%AD%90&track13=%E5%8C%97%E5%AF%92%E6%B8%AF&tracklength13=2%3A58&tr13_artistname=%E6%A3%AE%E6%98%8C%E5%AD%90&track14=%E6%82%B2%E3%81%97%E3%81%BF%E6%9C%AC%E7%B7%9A%20%E6%97%A5%E6%9C%AC%E6%B5%B7&tracklength14=4%3A04&tr14_artistname=%E6%A3%AE%E6%98%8C%E5%AD%90&track15=%E7%AB%8B%0F%C8%81%C4%86%08%EC%95%88%E6%9F%AF%EC%95%80%E6%9F%AF%E6%96%84%E0%AF%B8%E3%AC%BC%E0%AD%AA%E4%81%A4%C3%AF%EF%9F%B8%C8%BE%E4%82%90%CA%AF%E2%A0%80%C4%94 Then it forwarded to this error : You cannot add a release to the 'Deleted Artist'. The artist in question exists though : 森昌子. What do you think of this ? :) (you can delete the message after relpy – the big URL messes up with your page too much) -- jesus2099 10:35, 18 July 2007 (UTC)

  • The URL is cut off, you are probably hitting some Windows limit. -- LukasLalinsky 11:23, 18 July 2007 (UTC)
    • Oh I see ! My cut off URL is 2197 characters long and I use Opera browser. Is there a way, in your python code, to display the url variable i a copyable field before calling the default browser ? This way I could try my other browsers with it, which are not default. Or even try to paste it myself in the address field. -- jesus2099 11:57, 18 July 2007 (UTC)
      • luks: I run into this all the time. I've not yet identified the cause, though I think it has something to do with the first 3 or so attributes in the url line. The same release, submitted with the old (non-tag-based tracknumber) cluster plugin will work and the newer tag-based one will fail for the same cluster. (Hence why I still keep both versions installed, with a few name modifications to allow both to be present at the same time). -- BrianSchweitzer 05:03, 28 August 2007 (UTC)

small lastfm-genre plugin issue

lukz: the last fm genre plugin seems to have a problem getting Genres for anything by the band AC/DC. I wonder if it's because they have a slash '/' in their name. I added some print statements to the plugin, for example in the _tags_downloaded function and it looks like the "intags" variable is empty for any AC/DC track...

Disc numbers plugin

Hello,

Using your disc numbers plugin a lot, it's simple but does its job quite well.

I would just like to recommend replacing the plugin's RE as such:

_discnumber_re = re.compile(r"\s+\(disc (\d+)(?::\s+(.+))?\)\s+$")

The difference between this RE and your RE is that the original one failed on titles such as "Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain: L.A.'s Desert Origins (disc 1: Back to the Gold Soundz (Phantom Power Parables))" because of double closing parenthesis. My version of the RE allows closing parenthesis to be part of the album subtitle, and assures that the last closing parenthesis is at the end of the string.

Maybe my version isn't perfect either, but I just wanted to open your eyes to this bug.

Thanks for the nice plugin,

Yotam

How to update Image:ngs-ars.png?

I heard you used some custom code to generate this -- is it available somewhere? I'd like to update this image, as it's out of date, and therefore confusing. JesseW 06:37, 15 September 2011 (UTC)

Move Feat. Artists to Titles

Hi

I want to start using picard, but I really want to use this plugin feature: Move Feat. Artists to Titles Does this mean I have to install Picard 1.0, or will the plugin also work for the latest version 1.2

Thanks Mike
