This is for a very rough project in the beginning stages...
Essentially, to build up a table of CSG-used text in various languages - not libretto text, etc, but "in"/"a"/"from"/etc, keys, instruments, and other words needed to be able to take any:
- Symphony No. 41 in C major, K. 551 "Jupiter": I. Allegro vivace
and output:
- Sinfonie No. 41 in C dur, K. 551 "Jupiter": I. Allegro vivace
- Sinfonia No. 41 en Do mayor, K. 551 "Jupiter": I. Allegro vivace
- etc.
so we can then work on translating from any source language to any desired language for classical.
Basic short words (definite articles, etc)

- masculine/feminine
- masculine/feminine/plural
- depends on the context
- note this is the ordinal masculine indicator (ordm), and not the degree symbol (°).
- det may be pronounced dom, and although not properly written that way it does turn up in idiomatic usage.
Note: CSG-based context for each (ie, this should be the only situation(s) for which we'd be trying to translate that word):

- "Movement to a Sonata"
- "Sketches of a Ballet"
- "Beginning of a Fugue"
B. Linking work type to subject:
- "Cantata on the Holy Grave of Christ"

(*) note that in French, Ut is the old denomination for Do. Both are correct. Ut is still used in technical or theoretical terms.
- If a work were to be machine translated from English to French, which would be more correct? Ut or Do? -- BrianSchweitzer 08:59, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
- I don't think having an automatic translation for that is feasible, and either may be more correct depending on the context, but please ask davitof opinion about that. -- dmppanda 12:40, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
Work Types
These are all intended to refer to the word for the type of music, not such things as what you breath, something you do to lose weight, or the creature that walks on eight legs.

For these next few, not only how would they translate, but how would they combine with any of the above (or would they stay as two separate words)?

Discussion
Is it worth adding ordinals? Even in english they can bear little resemblance to cardinal numbers, and it only gets worse in some languages, where there's multiple cases and genders to be dealt with. -- KrazyKiwi
- Possibly... One might try to translate the (bad CSG style) "Seventh symphony for six strings in C major". -- BrianSchweitzer 23:42, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
