MusicBrainz Mailing Lists

The MusicBrainz mailing lists (sometimes called groups) are one of the most important communication forums of the project.

Nabble hosts a combined archive where you can read the past discussions on all the lists from the MusicBrainz project.

Different Mailinglists

There are three multi-purpose mailing lists. They differ in the degree of involvement of their subscribers:

  • General discussions about MusicBrainz for all users. These include questions about the exact interpretation of the StyleGuidelines.
  • Discussions about the development of MusicBrainz for experienced users.

Then there are some more specialized lists:

  • Discussions about internationalisation of MusicBrainz.
  • Restricted list for discussion between and election of new AutoModerators.

(there is a MailingListTemplate to create new MailingList pages)

Further Information

If oyu want to subscribe, unsubscribe or change your email address, go to http://musicbrainz.org/list.html. There are also searchable mailman archives of all previous messages, but they are less comfortable than the Nabble archives.

When we speak of the "MailingList" on this wiki, we usually mean the main UsersMailingList. In mid 2005 we have restructured our mailing lists and not all links have been corrected, yet. See MailingListDiscussion for details about the restructuring.

And of course all users of the MailingList are expected to follow the CodeOfConduct.
