Artists with German Names or Works with Titles in German

The following is a partial list of InternationalArtists whose names are German, or who have works with titles in German. If you can read and write German, please consider adding these artists to your ArtistSubscriptions so that you can be notified when there are additions or changes to their discographies, and you can check them for errors. If you know of other German artists not listed here, please add them.

This list of artists is sorted by SortName in German alphabetic order: A/ÄBCDEFGHIJKLMNO/ÖPQRS/ßTU/ÜVWXYZ. That means: A and Ä are treated equal unless the rest of the word is equal, then A is preferred (same for the other alternatives in the alphabet). So ÄBC comes before ACC but ABC comes before ÄBC. Any additions should also be sorted using German alphabetical order.

Das Folgende ist eine partielle Liste internationaler Künstler, die deutsche Namen oder Arbeiten mit deutschen Titeln haben. Wenn sie Deutsch lesen und schreiben können, nehmen Sie diese Künstler bitte in Ihre ArtistSubscriptions auf, so dass Sie über Erweiterungen oder Änderungen derer Diskographien benachrichtigt werden können und diese auf Fehler überprüfen können. Wenn Sie weitere deutsche Künstler kennen, die hier nicht aufgeführt sind, fügen Sie sie bitte hinzu.

Diese Künstlerliste ist nach SortName in deutscher alphabetischer Reihenfolge sortiert: A/ÄBCDEFGHIJKLMNO/ÖPQRS/ßTU/ÜVWXYZ. Das heißt: A und Ä werden gleich behandelt, es sei denn, der Rest des Wortes ist gleich, dann wird A bevorzugt (und genauso für die anderen Alternativen im Alphabet). Also kommt ÄBC vor ACC, aber ABC vor ÄBC. Jeder weitere Künstler sollte auch in deutscher alphabetischer Reihenfolge einsortiert werden.

Discussion

Can we clarify the problem with artists like Alexander, Thomas Anders, Modern Talking and De/Vision, who are from Germany but don't release German work. Are they supposed to be part of this list or not? --Fuchs

Similar problem with Kruder & Dorfmeister, who mostly work as remixers, but again even this for English works only(?). --Fuchs

  • About Modern Talking you're right, was a mistake to add them. But the others.. well the title of this page says "Artists with German Names". And since Alexander, Thomas Anders, Kruder&Dorfmeister have German names I thought it would be legal to add them.. but of course this is a border case. So if this doesn't seem correct to you feel free to delete them - I'm unsure about this :) --Shepard
