We badly need help to smack down the list of discids to investigate. You don't need to speak french for most of them!
|}
* some of them require intensive researchs in language X (say: german)
* some of them require specific knowledge of "genre" Y (say: classical)
* some of them are simple homebrews, but most of them are a bit more tricky
* some of them may be simply ok...

----

We also need help hunting label/cat/EAN we still miss for some releases.

Notes
Editing suggestions:
Common typos:
* oeil for œil
* coeur for cœur
* soeur for sœur
* moeurs for mœurs

Mangled collabs and feats:
* There are a lot of duos/trios/grouped artists names that are either incomplete or simply bogus (search the VA albums, especially taratata stuff)
* tracks titles containings "(avec " or "(en duo avec" are indeed "feats"

Investigate and report:
<ul><li style="list-style-type:none">Punk group list at wikipedia
</ul>

You may use the artist "Television Theme Songs" to "dump" in TV comp albums actually sorted under bogus artists.

Abbreviations used in the status list:
* D = Discogs, W = Wikipedia, M = Myspace, O = Official website, F = Fan site, I = IMDB, MM = MusicMoz

Global status
Discids have been reviewed for all artists actually linked in that page.

Have been searched exhaustively, up to (including) letter A of the TODO list:
* Discogs & Wikipedia (artist entries)
* Discogs & Wikipedia.fr (release entries), but Air, Adamo and Jacques Brel
* Aliases
* Collabs ARs have been set
* Artist dates

From letter B to E of the todo list (included):
* Discogs & Wikipedia (artist entries)

Discids to investigate
May, or may not be homebrews (don't know what to think):
* Le bruit et l'odeur
* The Best of Me: A Collection of David Foster's Greatest Works all tracks +~1-2 seconds

One of the two is certainly bogus, but it's difficult to tell which:
* Mega 80, Volume...
* - - - German researcher goes here - - - -> Käfer-Hits
* - - - Classical specialist goes here - - - -> Fauré: Requiem, Op. 48 / Duruflé: Requiem, Op. 9 (Atlanta Symphony Orchestra & Chorus feat. conductor: Robert Shaw)
* - - - Classical specialist goes here - - - -> Fauré: Requiem / Messe basse / Cantique de Jean Racine (Lisa Beckley, Nicholas Gedge, Schola Cantorum of Oxford, Oxford Camerata, Jeremy Summerly)
* - - - Classical specialist goes here - - - -> Debussy, Ravel: String Quartets - Emerson String Quartet a bunch of tracks offseted by 10~40 seconds. Looks to me like one of the id is for another interpretation of the same classical program

First id has four tracks offsetted by 30sec~1minute, I can't decide if it's legit or not (note: I know for sure the second id *is* legit):
* The Virgin Suicides

Strange stuff, part 1: A few tracks offsetted:
* L'Essentiel (disc 1) track #8 with 1 minute offset
* Les copains d'abord (disc 1) track #5 is 20' shorter in one of the three ids, and the two other ids are in the range of +2secs on each track
* Trainspotting #2 the two ids have the *exact* same offset map, then #12 starts 2 sector later, and is 30 seconds longer
* Let's Talk About Love ten seconds offset on #10

Probably ok, but needs confirmation:
* Les copains d'abord (disc 2) 12 seconds offset on one track
* Hors-saison track #3 is 15 seconds offseted
* In Classical Mood, Volume 3: Tranquility track #4 is 30 seconds offseted
* Bravo Hits 30 (disc 1) track #15 offseted by 30 seconds
* Telarc Sampler, Volume 1 10 seconds difference on the leadout

Awaiting merge before further verification of the ids:
* Daphnis et Chloé

Waiting for the dust to come down...:
* Falling Into You

Atrocious mess:

Positively awful, some work already done:

Status: This Page is Glorious History!

The content of this page either is bit-rotted, or has lost its reason to exist due to some new features having been implemented in MusicBrainz, or maybe just described something that never made it in (or made it in a different way), or possibly is meant to store information and memories about our Glorious Past. We still keep this page to honor the brave editors who, during the prehistoric times (prehistoric for you, newcomer!), struggled hard to build a better present and dreamed of an even better future. We also keep it for archival purposes because possibly it still contains crazy thoughts and ideas that may be reused someday. If you're not into looking at either the past or the future, you should just disregard entirely this page content and look for an up to date documentation page elsewhere.

A Frogs' Brigade Editing Party

Content

What is this?

So, when all-french-releases-typos were dust, all cried, "To the irc chan!
Run, Pheidippides, one edit more! the meed is thy due!
MusicBrainz is saved, thank Pan, go shout!" He flung down his shield
Ran like fire once more: and the space 'twixt the fennel-field
And MB was stubble again, a field which a fire runs through,
Till in he broke: "Rejoice, we fixed-em-all!" Like wine through clay,
Joy in his blood bursting his brainz, he died - the bliss!
