Me

I edit as caller#6, and on irc I might be CallerNoSix or something similar. Why on Earth did I choose a username with a hash in it?

Editing

I bounce around aimlessly through Musicbrainzland, making edits in areas that don't seem to get much attention. So far:

  • Isaac Stern
  • SF Bay Area
  • British folk blues
  • ongoing: I check in on the Castle/Sanctuary labels and try to put things in their proper places.
    • Castle: bogus, to be merged
    • Castle Communications (end:1999)
    • Castle Music (start:1999) A spin-off of Castle Communications, promptly sold to Sanctuary Records Group ltd in 2000, which was in turn bought by Universal in 2007.
    • Castle Music America -- Sanctuary had a US division with a number of sublabels, but the actual imprint is identical to Castle Music UK. I think it's probably a good idea to merge the two, since the only functional difference is the release country.
    • Sanctuary Records -- UK label, part of Sanctuary Records Group ltd which was in turn bought by Universal in 2007. Still in use as of November 2010.
    • Sanctuary Records -- US division, imprint identical to UK label. As with Castle Music these should probably be merged.
    • Essential! Records -- an independent label bought by Castle Communications, later part of the Sanctuary Group.
    • Marble Arch -- an independent label bought by Castle Communications, later part of the Sanctuary Group.
    • I'll come back to this later...

to do:

  • Series (mostly harmless)
  • sort name style
  • CSG
  • series support (and maybe catalogs or other "container" entities)
  • A quotes B -- this is a track-track (work-work and/or recording-work) AR that I'd like to see alongside "samples"
    • This was supposed to be part of a group of ARs that would fit together sensibly and cover the spectrum of possible "derivative" relationships. Harder than it sounds. But then again, everything seems to be.

done:

  • helped re-define [traditional]
