When I created this page, the only way for an area to be added to MB was to wait for area_bot to find it on Wikidata or pester an admin to add it. Now we have [http://tickets.musicbrainz.org/browse/AREQ|area request tickets in JIRA], so this page will serve as a sort of to-do list of areas that need tickets (if they have not been added already).
This is sort of a dummy page until MB has a more formal system for managing areas. Our current system involves automated bots crawling Wikipedia for data, and already this has proven slow and cumbersome. The idea is similar to that for [[Instrument Tree/Requests]], in that if we can prove that there is a pressing need for an area to be added, we show it the same way we show that instruments are needed.
