Hi,
Hi,

I'm warp on #musicbrainz, [http://musicbrainz.org/show/user/?username=kuno kuno] is my account on musicbrainz.
I'm warp on #musicbrainz (see also [[IRC Regulars|IRCRegulars]]), [http://musicbrainz.org/show/user/?username=kuno kuno] is my account on musicbrainz. You can email me at [mailto:kuno@frob.nl kuno@frob.nl], and I have a very low-traffic blog at [http://320x200.org 320x200.org].

I'm not terribly active with making edits or voting, but when I add or fix stuff I often have this obsessive need to fix other releases related to it.

==interests==

You will often see me adding/fixing japanese releases, even though I do not read any japanese. This mostly originated from a healthy obsession of wanting video game music tagged correctly in the original language, and not their transliterated or translated equivalents.

Feel free to bother me with questions on video game music in general.

==languages==

Frisian is my native language, but I don't listen to frisian music at all --- still, if you do stumble upon a frisian release in MB, I will be happy to try and answer any question you might have.

In my spare time I'm trying to learn korean, I'm an absolute beginner and progress is slow, but again, if you have questions regarding a korean release I will try to answer them.

==tagger==

Some time ago, I wrote a small php script to rename album directories the way I wanted to, as it seemed picard wasn't really suitable for the task. (screenshot here: <code><nowiki>[[Image:blackcherry-004.png]]</nowiki></code>). I wrote that in php, which is a horrible language for that sort of thing :). I plan to write a more elaborate version in python eventually, which should probably have the following tasks:

===updating / applying data===

* for each release, check once every few months if the data is still up-to-date.
* rename directories and files according to my preferences. (due to recently acquiring an mp3 player with a dodgy interface, this will include renaming to VFAT compatible filenames, possibly using transliterated titles for filenames (obviously keeping the original language in the tags).
* provide a local "cache" of album covers from amazon, discogs links, and possible other sources.

===reporting===

* for each release, check if data is complete (release date, catalog #s, missing covers, AR to transliterated/translated if the release contains non-latin characters).
* check file format/quality, report e.g. if bitrate is not good enough. (in my case, just report if it's not .flac ;)
* check cover file resolution/quality.
* look up the ASIN at riaaradar

===wipeout===

Check if all the various wipeout playstation/saturn/pc cdroms are entered correctly, and that all of them are there, and that no duplicates are.

short list from the top of my head of those which should be there:
* Wipeout PC CDROM, Playstation, Saturn
* Wipeout 2097 / Wipeout XL PC CDROM, Playstation, Saturn --- check if the game was released consistently with these names in their respective continents for all platforms.
* Wipeout 3
* Wipeout Pure
* Wipeout Fusion

There should be seperate soundtrack releases for atleast these:
* Wipeout, Wipeout 2097, Wipeout Pure. check if all of these are in MB, and check if there are more of those out there.

==random (needs cleanup)==
UPDATE: checked to wipeout 3 so far. missing releases (on 2007-03-03): Wipeout PC CDROM disc, Wipeout XL playstation disc.

* Rollcage and Rollcage 2 have different audio tracks between their playstation and pc-cdrom versions, check if all of those are in MB, and check if the soundtrack release is in there.
