Description

The label disambiguation comment is a field in the database used to help distinguish labels with identical names or LabelCode. It's structurally identical, and has the same purpose as the artist disambiguation comment field.

The label disambiguation comment will appear in the search results next to each name: the disambiguation comment should be kept fairly short. A few words is normally enough, just enough that someone reading it will recognize the Label they're looking for. The label disambiguation comment field is not a place to store general background information: that kind of information should go in the LabelAnnotation.

You will be prompted to enter a disambiguation comment any time you enter a new Label which shares its name with an existing Label, but you'll not be prompted to enter a disambiguation comment for the "old" one. To enhance the search results, you should ideally provide a disambiguation comment for the old Label as well, by editing it on its EditLabelPage.
