This is a set of FAQs (with answers :-) ) that are maintained by the MusicBrainz community. Chances are, that if you have a question on how to use MusicBrainz, you will find the answer here. If you do not, please ask us via the UsersMailingList.

  • Idea.png When you have gotten an answer, it would be nice if you added the question and answer to the appropriate FAQ in the wiki (if you feel comfortable with wikis).

The following FAQs are available:

  • for general questions about MusicBrainz
  • for questions relating to your MusicBrainz account
  • for questions about editing the database (moderating).
  • for questions about the voting process
  • for questions about the old Windows ClassicTagger (MusicBrainz Tagger 0.10.5).
  • for questions about classical music
  • about fixing misencoded entries for artists, releases and tracks
  • about the more technical aspects of MusicBrainz
