s or ReleaseCountry).
They are resolved in a community process by the StyleCouncil.
Bug Tracker
There is a list list of open style issues in the MusicBrainz BugTracker. How actively is still used?
- Actively, again, after a pause of several months. —JimDeLaHunt 2008-02-09
Discussion
- (Shepard, after a comment from DonRedman): Is this not used anymore? I always put a lot of work in keeping it up to date, was this to no purpose? -- Shepard 21:05, 01 November 2006 (UTC)
- When I said, that this was not used anymore, I meant that I have not seen it being referred to on the StyleMailingList for quite a while. Is anybody using the tracker? -- DonRedman 08:17, 02 November 2006 (UTC)
- Well, to me "but this is not actively used anymore" could be easily misunderstood by newbies that they should better not care about it. If something is used or not is a thing they can workout themselves, but official documentation should not say "we don't use this". At least not if there are no alternative procedures. Are there any? If not then I think it's important to still encourage people to use the current ones. Rules follow practice, but there's a difference if people are just too lazy to enter style issues in the BugTracker or if they really feel this is too formalised and we don't need documentation of open issues. :) -- Shepard 15:52, 02 November 2006 (UTC)

Starting in January 2008, there has been a flurry of activity on the mb-style list about cleaning up a large backlog of issues in the ClassicalStyleGuide. I think we need a tool track those issues. It makes a lot of sense to resume using the tracker for this purpose. I'm going to start doing it, unless someone persuades me it's not a good idea. BrianFreud is already restarting its use; see Ticket #3549 "Clean Up CSG". —JimDeLaHunt 2008-02-06.
- kuno has been maintaining a StyleIssue list at kuno/CurrentStyleProposals for some months now. I applaud that page, but I think the BugTracker is an even better tool for the job. I'm presently adding new style issues to the BugTracker. —JimDeLaHunt 2008-02-09
